Dr. Baskous graduated from Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, PA  (M.D.) and the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA (MPH) .  He was Chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Alaska Regional Hospital (2009-2010).

Dr. Baskous is Board Certified in Family Practice (A.B.F.M.), in Occupational Medicine (ABPM-OM), in Bariatric Medicine (ABBM) and Certified in Tropical Medicine and Travelers Health (ASTMH + ISTM).

Having practiced medicine in Alaska for over 30 years, Dr. Baskous is a Life Member of the Alaska State Medical Association. He is also a Fellow and Life Member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, a member of the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine. He is a Life Member of American Mensa, a Life Member of the Pioneers of Alaska, a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Harvard Club of Alaska. He has been an active staff member of both Providence and Alaska Regional Hospitals since 1981. He has served on the Medical Executive Committee of Alaska Regional Hospital.

Dr. Baskous and his wife Maria have lived in Anchorage for over 30

years and have three grown children. They are extremely grateful for the wonderful opportunities that our city and state have had to offer.
